Sentosa island is not a theme park and is no where near Disneyland; but most tourists visit this key tourist spot of Singapore. One even told me you have not seen Singapore if you have not been to Sentosa!! Ok ok! Sentosa is a relaxing place to go to, but be prepared to pay entrance fees for most of the major tourist attractions. =P
Around 71% of the Earth’s surface is covered by ocean. Three billion years prior to the movement of animal and plant life on land, life within the ocean had already evolved. We are really lucky to have the chance to see those amazingly beautiful fishes and exotic marine creatures from the underwater world in aquariums like Qianhu Fish Farm in Singapore.
These shy aquarium habitants are popular pet fish commonly known as Discus. They have brilliant colours on their “discus” body and are a genus of freshwater cichlid.
Fanciful motorbike full of sunflowers, even the rider’s jacket and helmet have sunflowers all over. I’ve seen this sunflower-themed bike at least twice in Singapore, if there is only one such bike… Wonder if this is some sort of an advertisment related to sunflowers? If one day I saw a sunflower on the road, I guess I knew where it came from… Oh my, just noticed that he seemed to be wearing a Singapore flag in front of him!

With Singapore Flyer in the background, this is the world’s first floating stage – Marina Bay Floating Stadium (???????) which was completed in 2007. It will be used to hold the opening and closing ceremonies of the inaugural 2010 Summer Youth Olympics. On August 9, the floating stadium will be under the spotlight during the 43rd National Day celebrations! And that’s in less than a week’s time!
You enjoyed your day trip very much in Chinatown. Did I hear the party animal growling in you? It’s time to chill out! Let’s go to Clarke Quay for some atmospheric nightspots, within walking distance from Chinatown. Here you can find dance floors, yuppie pubs, bistros, restaurants and galleries in this very happening pedestrian mall.
Always blogging, even busily watching the exciting Beijing Olympic Games! Well well, the photo below was taken from Mount Faber (???). MOUNT Faber? It may sound like a “mountain” but it is just a small hill standing at a height of 105 metres. The highest hill in Singapore is Bukit Timah Hill with a height of 164 metres only.
At Mount Faber, which is part of the 9-km long Southern Ridges, you will enjoy the panoramic views of the central business district area, cable cars that connect to the touristy Sentosa island and other areas in the South. The photo below depicts the typical skyline of Singapore, with tall commercial buildings located in the business district area that loom over the colourful residential buildings.
Little India is Singapore’s Indian heartland, yet another cultural heritage site in Singapore. It used to be a division where Indian immigrants would reside in olden days, but under Singapore government’s policy for racial harmony, the immigrant population (just like Chinese and other immigrants) was spatially segregated into different parts of the islands.
Singapore is definitely a shopping paradise; you can find cheap and good items all over the city. Though there are mid-year sales and final-year sales going on every year, I would say that sales are literally going on all year round. Shop till you drop!
And did I mention Singapore is a food paradise too? You name it, we have it. Food centres are everywhere to make sure that you never miss your meals! Apart from Chinese, Malay and Indian food, this cosmopolitan country has a wide variety of food that includes Korean, Japanese, Thai, Indonesian, American, French, Vietnamese, Mexican, Italian, Swiss, German and a long list to go…
I have been going around Singapore(???) these few days, trying to explore every nook and canny of my homeland. Did I say explore? Yes! You must be wondering why I didn’t blog about my own country, despite that I have published 160 over posts since April ‘08 in this travel photo blog, yet all are not related to Singapore! I admit that I took for granted everything I had back home. But now, I can tell you that Singapore is definitely MORE BEAUTIFUL than ever!
